Dairy Farming

Work Packages and Timeline

The ET4D work program covers three years and is organised in six work packages (WP), each associated with two to four respective milestones and deliverables. The first WP deals with communication needs of agri-food systems in general and the assessment and enhancement of on-farm ICT infrastructure in selected case study facilities. The second WP focusses on on-farm sensor data collection. It involves the validation and demonstration of a semi-commercial environmental monitoring system for barns as well as the exploration and assessment of further simplified monitoring systems. The third WP deals with the diagnosis of information needs of selected primary target groups for the dairy sector and of potential concerns of farmers related to data privacy and sharing in order to define suitable levels of data aggregation for interest group tailored reports. The forth WP conflates specific data from WP2 and WP3 and literature, to provide an online information and decision support application for different interest groups in the dairy sector. The fifth WP concerns the strategic planning and evaluation of the dissemination, communication, exploitation and networking activities to maximize the outreach of the project. Finally, the sixth WP is dedicated to internal project communication and management, to promote efficient workflows and timely delivery of results.
