About Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences
Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr) is one of the best-specialised Universities in Poland. The UPWr is the only centre for research of the environment, agri business, and innovative technologies in the agri-food sector oriented towards health and the quality of life in the Lower Silesian region (population of 3 million). The profile of the UPWr and its mission are directly involved in transformation programs dealing with rural development as well as food quality and management (animal health and welfare, animal and plant products technology, biotechnology, microbiology, food quality and safety, sensory analysis, nutrition, food chemistry) with full respect paid to social support and interaction.
In ET4D, UPWr will be involved in installation and maintenance of the Enviro-Detect system at the selected dairy farm, incl. adaptation of technical infrastructure (e.g. internet connection), communication with farm’s owner, sensors optimization and pre-processing of obtained data (in the form of periodic reports). In addition, UPWr will also support the project in involvement in the information assimilation process (data related to the livestock building’s microclimate, animal welfare assessment and cow’s performance). Lastly, also in cooperation during dissemination activity (co-authorship of open access publications,reports, conference papers and website materials) and involvement in coordination of on-farm and dissemination activities.
