Dairy Farming

About Aarhus University

Aarhus University, Department of Engineering (Operations Management Group) has made key breakthroughs on the operations, adoption, and assessment of emerging technologies in the agri-food system, including working with the paradigm shift to intelligent optimization of technology as part of the move towards Smart Farming. This includes issues like lacking adoption and implementation of advanced tools, technologies, and solutions in livestock farming. Numerous multidisciplinary collaborations have been initiated and form a strong foundation for researching next generation technologies and smart production systems as proposed in the LivestockSense project.

In ET4D, AU will be involved in WP1, WP3, WP4, and WP5. AU will use information modelling (e.g. information requirements) to facilitate the design of improved/modified information flows and data specificity (type and content). This will include feasibility measures of digitization providing input for transparency and sustainability performance of new technologies and practices. AU will also provide operational/performance data for economic and technical benchmarking, as well as measures for  business model development/innovation. As part of the data aggregation and platform building in ET4D, AU will work with the information needs and information flow design and specifications. AU will contribute to the dissemination, communication and exploitation of project results.
